Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe mental health disorder affecting over 50 million people globally. This illness can affect how a person thinks, feels, and interacts with their surroundings. When schizophrenia is active, symptoms can include delusions, hallucinations, trouble with thinking, concentration, and a lack of motivation.
It is extremely important for Social Workers and Emergency Response Personnel to understand the conditions that affect individuals suffering from Schizophrenia and how to best interact with them in a time of need or crisis.
This application utilizes Virtual Reality technology to give a brief glimpse into the symptoms and conditions that affect someone suffering from schizophrenia and to help build empathy and understanding for those that suffer from the disorder.
